Welcome to Vila Verde, Cape Verde:

You may be forgiven for wondering why so many people are rapidly becoming very excited about a resort development project taking place in the Atlantic, nowhere near the Caribbean. Possibly you may not have even heard of Vila Verde, yet over the coming months, Vila Verde is the name to watch out for, especially given the 6% growth expected during this current year alone.

Vila Verde is  a resort development project based on the Isle of Sal, one of ten islands which makes up the archipelago referred to as Cape Verde. over 150 million euros is being channelled into the 45 hectare acre site, with a total of 90 villas 940 apartments and 200 town houses making up the whole of Vila Verde.

Additionally, Vila Verde will include shopping and entertainment centres, extensive leisure facilities and a top class hotel. The nearest town, Santa Maria, is easily accessible as the main road runs directly between Santa Maria and Vila Verde.

The Isle of Sal is home to about 16,000 residents, Vila Verde being the only property development project on the island. Of the ten islands in total, only seven are inhabited at all, with three being genuine desert islands, with white dunes and mountains. All of the islands are volcanic, although only one is still active. The island of Fogo lies to the south east of Sal.

All properties built within the Vila Verde resort have been designed and developed by an established developer from Cape Verde, and have been designed in sympathy with the Portuguese origins and cultural background which marks the whole of Cape Verde. Almost all of the properties enjoy seafront views, and the journey to the airport takes just a matter of minutes.

The villas all enjoy their own pools, and for the apartments, communal pools are available in addition to the tennis courts, green park areas and views to the marine reserve. Surrounded by the colonial feel, it is not hard to see why so many people are falling in love so quickly with the astonishing Vila Verde complex.

Go into any travel agency, and you will see that Cape Verde is now in the top ten most popular holiday destinations for UK and European tourists, and long term property investors are fast arriving to snap up the land and the properties and plots available. Although not cheap, the land costs are set to escalate enormously as more of the properties are built, more of the facilities established, and the whole infrastructure of Vila Verde becomes a more complete picture.

Many British and European home buyers are keen to take advantage of the developments in Cape Verde, as it offers the closest destination to home that fits the perfect image of the classical tropical island paradise. Invest here, buy here – visit for a time if you will, but there is enough to lure you to stay in Vila Verde and explore the whole of the Cape Verde islands for a great deal longer than planned.
